I wish to bring to your urgent attention the good news that a local family business headquartered in Ferndown is now producing over 100,000 face shields a week for use in hospitals, care settings and by others who need to protect their faces from airborne virus. Mauveworx, which is the parent company, had originally intended to furlough almost all its 128 staff but, as a result of repurposing their factory, they have now become the biggest producer of PPE face shields in the UK.
The face shields have already been purchased by local hospitals in Bournemouth, Dorchester, Poole and Southampton. BCP Council and Dorset Police have also made purchases.
Toby Martin, the Creative Services Director, obtained some national publicity on BBC and Sky News for the product but he is frustrated at the length of time it is taking for the availability of these face shields to become more widely known.
I attach herewith the details of the shield which you will see is CE certified. Up until now, the company has been concentrating on bulk orders of 1,000 per pallet at a unit cost of about £5.00 but it is now launching on its web portal details of how smaller quantities can be purchased at www.medworx.co.uk
